Amber Smith is an active member of the We Act group at her school, where she participates in initiatives related to social justice issues. During a volunteer trip to Winnipeg, she visited the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and learned how important it is to stand up for one's rights. She also visited the Siloam Mission and found out that the shelter is full every night, sometimes to the point that people are turned away; this made her even more determined to make a difference.
