Beginning in the 1980s, Doris Lucas has sought to inspire change in her hometown of Napanee. As chair of beautification on the city's Business Improvement Area Board and in conjunction with Communities in Bloom, she has helped transform the look of the downtown core by improving and revitalizing historic downtown facades, planting trees and building gardens.
