Lois Beck has been active for more than 50 years with the United Church; spent more than a decade with each of Meals on Wheels, the Festival of the Arts and the Golden Seniors Club; and volunteered for nearly 10 years with the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in addition to her own personal efforts. For over half a century, she has selflessly dedicated herself to the remote community of Cochenour, Ontario, inspiring many and bettering the lives of everyone around her, both young and old alike.
