Emily Chen is a volunteer with her school's Coyote Spirit Committee. She has led fundraisers in support of Free The Children programs and a variety of community causes, including
Adopt-a-Family and the Veterans' Food Bank, and has collected jackets for the homeless and assisted with Terry Fox runs. Emily Chen and Ella Koay launched the Zinc Saves Lives battery recycling campaign at their school in an effort to treat zinc deficiency in developing countries. So far, the campaign has provided 37 000 people with lifetime access to this essential mineral.
