In 1993, Bob Atkinson was one of the founding members of the Ibex Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and has been elected fire chief 15 out of the last 22 years. In addition to serving on several advisory committees, he has spent countless hours assisting with training exercises for other volunteer fire departments in the Whitehorse area.
