Elsie Lane is proof that getting older means getting better. After a lifetime of volunteer work, Mrs. Lane continues to offer her services to the community. She volunteers two afternoons a week as a greeter at the local museum and serves on several of its committees. She spends another two afternoons a week helping out at the regional hospital, where she is the oldest and the most active volunteer. She staffs the information desk, knits toys for children and helps with hospital fundraising campaigns. At home, she often cooks and cares for residents in her building. Her energy, common sense, compassion and good humour are an inspiration to all who know her.
