Freda Hogg, New Westminster, British Columbia
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For most of her life, Freda Hogg has shown her commitment to her community. Her involvement in the National Council of Women of Canada, the Provincial Council of Women of British Columbia and the New Westminster Council of Women has spanned more than six decades. At the beginning of World War II, she became a member and eventually President of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Westminster Regiment, participating actively for the next 60 years. In addition, Mrs. Hogg has dedicated over 50 years of service to her church and several local organizations, inspiring many others to follow her example.
