Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Bruno Bisson has improved his community in the environmental, educational and cultural realms. He founded an organization to recycle paper, whose profits are used to fund international development projects. In 1993, the organization became a centre for students with learning difficulties. Mr. Bisson also established the Estrie Miles for Millions Walk and, for nearly 20 years, has co-ordinated the event, which provides assistance to developing countries. As president of several musical organizations, he strongly encouraged cultural education. The youth of Mr. Bisson's community have benefited greatly from his commitment.
