Robert Irvine Small, Surrey, British Columbia
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For more than twenty years, Robert Small has voluntarily helped people with visual impairments, driving them wherever needed, always at his own expense and never expecting anything in return. Now visually-impaired himself, he remains a good neighbour, helping people with a variety of household maintenance chores in all seasons, even building a "blind man's ladder" so he could clean gutters and windows.
