Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Gertrude Roy demonstrates a great generosity and social conscience in her community and parish volunteer work, as well as in her personal care of individuals in need. During the 1980s, she opened her home to young people experiencing difficult times. She also works as a volunteer at the Sainte-Martine-de-Courcelles school library, visits and cares for sick or elderly people, and raises funds for many charitable organizations.
