Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Stanley Berezowski, a volunteer at Ste. Anne's Veterans Hospital since his retirement in 1988, helped form a group of volunteers to provide birthday parties for the patients, many of whom are seldom visited by relatives or friends. In addition, Mr. Berezowski devotes much time to visiting and maintaining a strong comradeship among the Polish patients and their families, organizing events on Polish holidays and bringing in troupes of children and musicians to perform traditional songs and dances.
