    John Conrad Jones and Marta Jones, Montreal, Quebec Governor General's Caring Canadian Award Marta and John Jones have been contributing to their community for many years. Mr. Jones, a founding member of Amnesty International in Canada, has been the national coordinator for the North Andean region of South America for 22 years. Mrs. Jones has been coordinator for the work of the Canadian Section of Amnesty International on East Africa for almost 20 years, as well as an active member of the refugee network within Amnesty. Over the years, they have helped and advised hundreds of refugees and refugee claimants. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Jones volunteer with AMI-Québec, an organization for the families of people living with mental illness.
