    Wilfred Poole, Bradford and Newton Robinson, Ontario Governor General's Caring Canadian Award A farming accident that cost Wilfred Poole the use of both legs has not deterred him in his determination to help others. He has been a director for what is now the Community Living Association for South Simcoe and President of the Cookstown and District Lions Club, organizing fundraisers and assisting in the building of a community hall. He has frequently acted as a disc jockey for fundraising events. Mr. Poole has also volunteered as a radio operator for the Emergency Measures Organization and as a dispatcher for his local police department. Since his retirement, he has driven over 70,000 km, transporting children and their families for the Cancer Society and the Simcoe County Children's Aid Society.
