    Elizabeth Pearl Blanchfield, Niagara Falls, Ontario Governor General's Caring Canadian Award Elizabeth Blanchfield volunteers for many organizations in her community of Niagara Falls. In 1984, she began volunteering with the Greenwood Manor Seniors' Home, often bringing treats for all the residents, and taking them shopping when needed. For the last 18 years, she has also given her time to the Greater Niagara General Hospital long-term care patients. Mrs. Blanchfield is a popular volunteer for community events, most notably the Niagara Festival of Lights, where she does everything from working in the office to acting as parade marshal. She also volunteers for the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival, the Niagara Film Festival and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
