In 1994, Police Staff Sergeant Gary Goulet shaved his head to show support for a young cancer patient who had lost his hair as a result of chemotherapy. He then developed his idea into the "Cops for Cancer" program, which raises funds for cancer research and now includes road races, golf tournaments as well as a number of head-shaving events. Staff Sergeant Goulet dedicates hundreds of hours of his own time to organizing, coordinating and promoting the "Cops for Cancer" program.
