Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
A nurse, teaching specialist and instructor, Denyse Chouinard has volunteered in palliative care for fifteen years. She founded the Albatros movement in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a special training program for caregivers of terminally ill patients, and also helped expand the movement into other parts of Quebec and Ontario. Through her commitment, Ms. Chouinard has helped to ease suffering and promote the well-being and growth of patients and their families.
