Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Jean McKenzie's volunteer assistance with various band associations and festivals over the last thirty years has been invaluable. She has been Secretary/Treasurer of the Maritime and Nova Scotia Band Associations, the Nova Scotia Youth Wind Ensemble, the Maritime Musicfest Advisory Board and the Maritime Music Industry's Scholarship Fund. Mrs. McKenzie continues to volunteer her time for the Truro and District School Band programmes, act as Coordinator's Assistant for Maritime Musicfest and serve as chief canvasser of the Nova Scotia Band Association.
