Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Donald Grant, a lawyer by profession, has dedicated many hours of volunteer work to a variety of community organizations. For years, he has generously and freely lent his legal counsel to the Royal Canadian Navy Benevolent Fund, advised a local minor hockey association and assisted the Canada Post Hockey Tournament in its support of charitable organizations. He was also very involved with the Healthpartners Fund, the Riverside Hospital and the local chapter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, through which he helped raise the funds for a young Barbadian to receive much-needed medical care at the Ottawa Heart Institute.
