Charles Lachman is a dedicated volunteer with the local Palliative Care Association and has been active in promoting and implementing a palliative care program in the area, helping with fundraising, advertising, workshops and training sessions for volunteers. He has volunteered many hours at the bedsides of palliative care patients, providing respite, emotional support and assistance with daily errands, and provides friendship and transportation as a participant in the Friendly Visitor Program. Mr. Lachman has also facilitated bereavement support groups and assisted in the organization of grief counselling and health and wellness workshops for the local health unit.
