Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Ann Robson has devoted considerable energy to assisting newcomers to this country. She instigated the sponsorship of a family of Vietnamese refugees at her church and took in two teenage boys who remained with her while they completed their education. As well, she sponsored their large extended family and provided the down payment for the house she now shares with them. A member of Montréal's Interfaith Refugee Committee, she also founded a clothing distribution centre and drop-in centre where she daily volunteers, offering advice and counselling. Ms. Robson also represents her Anglican Church as a member of the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund.
