Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
André Brisebois has been doing volunteer work in the community for more than twenty-five years. He helped found a recreational centre, the Verchères Junior Chamber of Commerce and a sports centre and arena. He has spoken to young people about drugs and about the need for protective sport helmets. Among his other activities are volunteer work with the Red Cross and fundraising for muscular dystrophy. He is currently Youth President with the Optimist Club, of which he is a founding member. Mr. Brisebois is also the co-founder of a club that assists people who are infirm by loaning them hospital beds or wheelchairs, or by providing transportation to the hospital.
