In 1985, Theresa Hickey, noticing that her children's school was a "million-dollar school with a $2 playground," immediately began to organize a flurry of benefit bingos, barbeques and ball games that have raised over $121,000 for the facility. In addition, she has volunteered countless hours to various fundraising activities for other schools in the area. Despite recent health problems, she continues to enthusiastically serve her community in many ways.
