Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Gerald Bird has long supported various community associations promoting the area's heritage and natural resources, as well as those concerned with the health and the well-being of community residents. He has been involved with the Keswick Valley River Society, the annual Keswick Valley Bass Tournament, the local senior citizens complex, the Canadian Association for Community Living, the Home and School Association, Frontier College's literacy program, the local literacy council, Neighbourhood Watch, his church and much more.
