Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Menno Klassen's life has been characterized by service to others. He was a volunteer visitor of inmates at the Stony Mountain Penitentiary for fifteen years. For twelve years, he was a member of the Mennonite Central Committee's Peace and Social Concerns Committee and has also been a member of a number of other groups promoting peace. Mr. Klassen continues to participate in many peace, environmental and social justice activities.
