Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Mrs. Alice Smith has volunteered as the organist and pianist of the Peterborough Temple Corps of the Salvation Army for more than fifty years. In addition to accompanying the choir, she has provided and prepared all the music for Sunday morning and evening services, as well as special music for extra services and musical concerts. As Songster Sergeant, she has also provided spiritual guidance to choir members. Mrs. Smith has also contributed to Peterborough's broader music community, encouraging young musicians through her volunteer involvement with music associations, competitions and festivals.
