Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Ida Hilton was a volunteer for the B.C. Schizophrenia Society for many years. She was instrumental in obtaining the funding necessary to establish a Schizophrenia Research Endowment Chair at the University of British Columbia and in persuading the provincial government to apply 50% of provincial lottery money to health care. Mrs. Hilton has done much to improve the lives of people living with schizophrenia in her community and in her province.
