Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For forty years, Madeleine Duquette worked as a volunteer in the parish thrift store, where she collected, sorted and redistributed used clothing and other items for people in need. She was also in charge of a team of volunteers, was responsible for an emergency assistance fund, visited families in need and was responsible for purchasing food hampers. She worked at the municipal housing office for about ten years, the Club Fémina and the Dames de la Congrégation alumni association. In addition, Mrs. Duquette is an honorary member of "La Maison Madeleine-Duquette", which promotes voluntarism.
