Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

For the past twelve years, André Beauregard has assisted more than 20,000 low-income earners to prepare their income tax returns through Revenue Canada's volunteer program. He is sensitive to the needs of persons who are homeless, senior citizens, immigrants and persons with visual impairments, and takes the time to visit them, talk with them, listen to them and comfort them. Mr. Beauregard meets with elderly people in the hospitals and homeless people in the streets and has even encouraged some of the latter to create their own small businesses.
