Harvie Reddick, Niagara Falls, Ontario
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
A former telephone installer and repair technician, Harvie Reddick has unselfishly devoted his expertise and hours of his time to helping children with disabilities across the Niagara region. He connected and still maintains outdated switchboards in schools for students with disabilities in order to help them learn to speak and communicate. He has also invented and built equipment and devices for children and students with special needs, such as modified chairs, a baseball that emits a tone for children with visual impairments, and other items to help develop specific skills.
