Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Betty Blake has been a volunteer since her children were in school. She chaperoned trips and distributed milk to students long before the city established a milk distribution program in the schools. She was the driving force behind the establishment of the Charlottetown Nancy Greene Ski School. Since retiring, Mrs. Blake has been volunteering regularly at the Prince Edward Home and with its Go-Getters Club for persons with disabilities. She also volunteers and does fundraising for various other organizations.
