Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
During his fifty years of volunteer work, Louis L'Heureux founded, directed and chaired a dozen social assistance movements, including the Duvernay and Laval carnivals, the Le Murier society, which helps to socially reintegrate people with mental disabilities, and the Corporation du Patro le Prévost, an organization dedicated to assisting families in a poor district of Montréal. He has participated in a number of Patro committees and was the chief organizer of the annual Gala. Mr. L'Heureux has been a member of the Montréal United Way for many years, warden for the Notre-Dame des Écores parish corporation, and Saint Vincent de Paul ecclesiastical associate.
