Over the years, Tom Smithwick has provided leadership with an outstanding compassionate quality that has made his community a better one for all. He has offered his advice and guidance to many organizations which he helped to found. These include the Kelowna Pregnancy Care Centre, which offers support to young mothers in distress; the Terminally Ill Children's Holiday Society; the Share Depot, a warehouse for donated goods for the underprivileged; and Freedom's Door, a housing and counselling home for men with addictions. Mr. Smithwick has played a key role in his town, has shown a deep concern for all people in his community and has touched the lives of those around him.
