Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

For more than six decades, Aline McGowan served as a volunteer for numerous organizations in Temiscaming, including the Red Cross and her church. She was particularly well-known for her work as President of the "Sourire et Partage" volunteer group at the Long Term Care Unit at the Centre de santé Témiscaming, and at the Pavillon Latourelle, a home for seniors. Whether helping residents with their meals, organizing special events and activities, or accompanying patients on outings, Mrs. McGowan worked constantly to improve their quality of life.
