Allan Hubley, Kanata, Ontario
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

A celebrated community builder, Allan Hubley has endeavoured to make Kanata a safe, unified neighbourhood and to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities. As the president of the Glen Cairn Community Association, he has helped to organize many local events, including parades, fairs and summer barbecues. He is a co-founding member of the Kanata Community Police Partnership where he has assisted in creating action plans to reduce crime. He also hosted youth discussions and established a number of volunteer awards to recognize the contributions of his fellow citizens. A strong advocate for persons with disabilities, he has endeavoured to give voice to their concerns through his work with advisory committees at both the municipal and national levels.
