Lucie Lessard

A trained nurse, Lucie Lessard has shown great volunteer involvement and dedication. As a member of the regional board of directors for the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec, she sacrifices many evenings and weekends so that her colleagues in the region can take development training. She has been involved with the Optimist club since 1991, as the person responsible for the Rêve d'enfants program (now called Souhait devenu réalité). She is also an instructor-trainer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation; the director of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary; and chair of the Foyer des marins and of the auxiliary volunteers for the Centre de santé et des services sociaux de Sept-Îles.
