David Jamieson began his quest to save the Medalta Potteries Plant in 1980. As Chairman of the Friends of Medalta Society, he has fundraised for renovation and maintenance, as well as sourced grants to hire unemployed workers to help with the project. Due to his voluntary activities, the Medalta facilities are now well-established as a museum, community gathering place and tourist attraction.
