Jubbie Nyathi has been involved in social issues since his arrival in Canada in 1985. He was instrumental in establishing an International Students' Union to help those from different countries adapt to life in Canada. He has contributed his time to development agencies improving life for people in Africa. He has become a role model for many young people through his teaching, tutoring and counselling. His genuine concern for others has led him to become a "foster parent" and "a big brother" for a group of children who needed his assistance. He is known as a person with a big heart who has always been there to help.
