Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Marion Panabaker has been devoted to helping her community for over 40 years. During this time, she has regularly visited the elderly living in nursing homes. Since 1966,
Mrs. Panabaker has volunteered for her church, participating in many activities. For 33 years, she delivered meals once a week for the Calgary Meals on Wheels program. In addition, for 15 years, she was a volunteer with the Foothills Hospital Escort Service, accompanying patients to outings and to church. She has canvassed for many associations, and is still active with the Osteoporosis Society of Canada and the Alzheimer Society.
