For more than 12 years, Beverly Ann Barra-Berger has been active with the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, an organization whose mission is to provide service to physically challenged Canadians. In 1989, shortly after the loss of her sight, she became an unofficial ambassador for dog guide users. Mrs. Barra-Berger has not only started a quarterly newsletter, entitled the Canine Courier, but she has become a major spokesperson for the Foundation, travelling across the country, speaking about blindness and the benefits of guide dogs.
