Claire Sexton, Town of Mount Royal, Quebec
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For twelve years, Claire Sexton has served as a volunteer with children in the intensive care ward of Sainte-Justine Hospital. When a child is hospitalized for an extended period, she fills in for absent parents or provides them with a period of rest. The quality of her care and her sincere commitment to the children have established her as a model volunteer, who also participates on the multidisciplinary team which assesses the condition of children in her care.
