Previously involved in community service in Vancouver, Dorscie Paterson's devotion to others has also touched the lives of the residents of Langley and Surrey, British Columbia. She has been a driving force at the Langley Hospice Society since the inception of the community-based facility about fifteen years ago, providing counselling and support for the dying and their families. Mrs. Paterson is also an active volunteer in the local fishing club, Lions Club, and her church.
