Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
A former medical director and hospital administrator, Dr. Johnston has made an outstanding contribution to his community as a senior citizens counsellor and by his participation on various committees and boards related to issues of health-care, senior citizens, crime prevention and education. Following the death of his wife, he donated funds to establish a centre for breast cancer prevention, treatment and research. An amateur musician, he also performs at fundraising events.
