    Jean Shaul, Stony Plain, Alberta Governor General's Caring Canadian Award Jean Shaul has been an active participant in her community for more than 40 years. As well as volunteering for the local blue grass festival, the exhibition society and the seniors' drop-in centre, she delivers meals for the local Meals on Wheels program. She helps cater at her church for funerals, weddings and other celebrations, and she ran its thrift shop for many years. Every week, Mrs. Shaul volunteers at her local hospital, visiting patients. She has also been active with the WestView Regional Health Services, registering community members for flu immunization clinics and for the early detection breast-screening program. Mrs. Shaul is also a regular canvasser for various charities.
