Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Gwen and Norman Legaarden have spent their lives volunteering their help for the edification and entertainment of others. They have lent their time and energy to the Red Cross, Canadian Girls in Training, the 4-H Club and their local church. They established the Senior Citizens' Kitchen Band and the RCMP Seniors' Musical Ride. Now retired, Mr. and Mrs. Legaarden continue to entertain voluntarily at public functions, hospitals, lodges and nursing homes.
