Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Kathy Ervin has made room in her busy life to serve her community. Through the Scouts and Girl Guides, she has worked to help girls and young women overcome difficulties and become productive members of society. Since 1994, she has played a key role in the city-wide Calgary Minor Softball Association, helping out as coach, board director, summer ball program coordinator and more. For the past 12 years she has also coached the fastball team of the Ranchlands Community Association. With her kindness, her determination and her endless energy, she has gained recognition as an effective advocate for young women and for amateur sport.
