Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
As an active member of the Saint-Adolphe d'Howard Lions Club since 1981, Laurent Tremblay has served as regional president and founder of two Lions clubs. He also contributed to and volunteered as a carpenter on renovation work for a church and was a founding member of the Laurentian Hospital Centre Medical Foundation. Mr. Tremblay frequently drives neighbours to appointments, visits seniors' residences and helps find furniture and jobs for those in need. Mr. Tremblay is always there to comfort people experiencing difficult situations such as separation, illness or bereavement, and has discreetly been providing assistance and encouragement for many years.
