Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Having a keen interest in helping severely disabled and chronically ill children, Anne Fraser spends two or three days per week working as a volunteer at the Bloorview Children's Hospital, teaching and providing personal care. As a member of the Retired Teachers of Ontario, for 18 years she has been the Hospitality Chairperson for the Toronto District. In this capacity, she has opened her home for as many as 200 executive meetings, 100 mailing meetings and 40 large luncheons. In addition, for 20 years, Ms. Fraser has been volunteering every week at the Hillcrest Centre of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, where she mends clothes, makes slings or repairs other needed items.
