Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Margaret Renaerts has devoted her life to caring for disabled children. Mrs. Renaerts and her husband have five children of their own, and have adopted another 12 children, eight of whom have or have had special needs. In addition, for years, she has provided respite care for parents with terminally ill children and children with significant mental and physical challenges. Mrs. Renaerts is considered an extraordinary person who has faithfully served her community through her commitment and love for all children.
