Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Yvette Gaudreau has always given of her heart and her time to the less fortunate members of her community. Since 1957, she has worked for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, visiting the sick in their homes and helping to sort clothing. She has served as vice-president of the national council and currently assists the Society as an advisor. She dedicated ten years of her life to Manoir Laurier, a seniors' residence, providing women's hairdressing services as well as her infectious optimism. Mrs. Gaudreau worked to establish a clinic for cystic fibrosis patients and was the founding president of the former Maison Morin-Plouffe, a convalescent home.
