Wayne McConnell has volunteered with the Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary since 2006, taking part in daily patrol work and helping out during community events. In 2009, he co-founded the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund, which donates life-saving defibrillators for use in public buildings. Since then, he has served as treasurer and secretary, and assists with fundraising events.
